  1. This Serial module allows the use of the CSI expansion card (NuBus Slot Card).

  3. The card I tested it with was a FOUR port card, but I made the software work with up to whatever limit they have or 32 lines, which ever comes first!

  5. This module is COPYRIGHT 1992 N Hawthorn, the SAME Copyright rules apply as with any of my other module for MUBBS; You can use it for FREE but do not sell it for profit!

  7. Version 1.5.2b (or anything with a "b") is a BETA TEST, and COULD CRASH!!

  9. It does seem to be working OK though, check the MUBBS Echo for more info on tests that have been done.

  11. There's a NEW modems module too, you install BOTH to your modules file.

  16. Make a COPY of your modules file and keep it somewhere incase you want to switch back.

  18. As of this writing V1.5.2b DOES SUPPORT CARRIER DETECT ON THE EXPANSION CARD. But just incase, you might have to turn it off:

  20. To turn carier detect off, you need to set the card ports to (in the "modems" file):

  24. Meaning NO carrier detect on those lines.

  26. The Application "Cable Test" is real handy in checking your cables for the correct wiring, it's included in this archive.

  28. The CSI card does NOT need any EXTRA SOFTWARE to run, just plug it in and it works just fine!

  30. I increased MUBBS memory size to 4 Megs (512K per user is a good number), and it works just fine on a Fx. (I hear that older Fx's need a serial INIT to fix a hardware bug out of Apple in the earily days).

  32. This module should also work with other EXPANSION cards, give it a try and let us all know on the Echo!

  34. There are some minor BUG fixes here too, you might want to run this serial module even if you are only running two lines.
